Galaxy Zoo Lab

For this lab you are going to be classifying galaxies in the Galaxy Zoo project with your partner. Please complete the following activities.

1. Watch this video on Citizen Science.
2. Read the Galaxy Zoo Student Guide and the Galaxy Zoo Classification Help files.
3. Access FaberScience Galaxy Navigator, register an account using your phmustangs account (i.e. johnsmith@phmustangs.org) and then start classifying galaxies.
4. On your galaxy zoo worksheet, sketch 10 galaxies that you find and record your observations. Include the following: 1 spiral galaxy, 1 bar galaxy, 1 elliptical galaxy, and 1 irregular galaxy.

 Please log-out after the five-minute bell and return your Chromebook back to the cart before you leave for the day.
